
Lara Jean Chorostecki could never be accused of sticking within narrow margins. Nabbing roles in the realms of drama, comedy, crime, science fiction, fantasy, and horror, Lara Jean is an actress known for her versatility and craft, both on screen and stage.
Born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Lara Jean discovered her love for acting at the age of 8 after watching a theatre production of Les Miserables.
Beginning her professional acting career as a teenager at the prestigious Stratford Festival of Canada, she was the youngest member to ever be accepted into Stratford’s Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training.
Lara Jean then found herself in London, England where she completed her Masters in Classical Acting at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Her theatre credits include four seasons with the Stratford Festival, (most notably appearing as Drina in Peter Hinton's The Swanne, and Katie in Quiet in the Land); Homechild opposite Eric Peterson (Canstage); Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden (Resurgence); as well as Arley-Rose in A Boy Called Newfoundland for critically acclaimed Toronto theatre company Theatre Smash.
Lara Jean created, produced and co-hosted the hit Company 3 and DGC of Ontario sponsored limited series podcast, Women On Screen Out Loud: The Podcast Essays, which highlights Canadian female identifying and non-binary artists in the film industry who challenge, motivate and inspire on all sides of the camera.
Always looking for new avenues to support the industry, in 2024, Lara Jean completed training with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, a leading SAG-AFTRA recognized program. Lara Jean adds the title of Intimacy Coordinator (certification-pending) through IDC, to her already multi-hyphenated career.
A frequent globe trotter, Lara Jean (known to most as LJ) can often be found fuelling many of her personal passions of hiking, singing, writing, volunteering with local animal shelters, relaxing with her dog at home, and sharing her love of acting and Shakespeare with students from grades 2 through to university through workshops and speaking engagements.
